For my graduation project, I joined Bhavya Ramesh as a Creative Media Intern, where I got to work across different parts of the creative process; from campaign conceptualisation and art direction to photography, graphic design and video editing. Here’s a selection of the work I created during my time there.

GILGA COLLECTION

The Gilga collection draws inspiration from the deep rooted symbolism of serpents in Indian mythology.

( Role )

post-production, editing, AI integration for website and social media

PROCESS

The campaign delved into serpent symbolism across cultures with a focus on Indian mythology. We created a curated reference archive that shaped the visual direction and the overall tone of the imagery. AI integration contributed to the process by refining creative edits and assisting in the incorporation of the animal features.

NARAKA COLLECTION

The Naraka collection delves into the unsettling yet captivating realms of death and afterlife.

( Role )

product photography, editing, campaign conceptualisation, and art direction

PROCESS

The imagery from this collection captures the abstract journey through the space between life and oblivion. This collection was relying on the concept being the campaign's centerpiece. To do this, the concept was broken down into the 'Phases of Naraka'.

While some literal motifs were included to act as anchors for the viewer, the broader aim was to evoke feelings of distortion, hallucination, pain and a continual push and pull between clarity and confusion.

PRODUCT SHOOT

Art Direction Focus:

  • Stark contrast between light and shadow

  • Textural imagery emphasizing motion, distortion and transformation

  • Use of theme building props like: coffins, black sand, coal and smoke.

Product Presentation:

Despite the heavy conceptual framework, the imagery needed to retain the product's inherent look and feel.

Overall Mood:

Elegantly eerie, hypnotic, and oscillating between distortion and focus.
